If I had the #1 pick, no matter what team that I am running I take Oden. He reminds me a lot of Bill Russel.

I would have to say I would take Oden without a doubt in my mind. This dude is definately someone anyone would want to defend their inside.

Oden, 7 ft centers like him comes along once in a lifetime.

Oden, you always take the dominant center when given the option. See Shaq if you have any questions.

I would go with Oden. He has some sweet moves around the basket. Not dissing Durrant because he can flat out play, but I think Oden can have an almost immediate impact on whatever team drafts him. Durrant needs to build some upper body strength to bang in the NBA....IMHO.

I don't think that it should even be a question guys Oden will give you something that won't come along again for a long time. Not to say that a Durant like player comes around every year. But they do more often than the Oden type players that is for sure. I have to agree with Cathouse.

I'd say at LEAST 25 NBA general managers would take Oden #1. That would be my choice as well. You can't pass up a dominant center like that.
Oden = Shaq - 4 Rings
Durant = Garnett - 0 Rings
Okay those are flimsy comparisons but you get the picture.

Put Kobe/D Wade with Garnett instead of Shaq and I don't think Shaq would have any rings; maybe Garnett would have a few; it seems it always takes 2 very good players on a team to win a championship

Guys like Oden are very few and far between. I take him even if Durrant grades higher or I already have a center.

You always take any player named Greg... over any body named Kevin...
Come on... (.... :-)))))

I don't think you can go wrong with either, unless on gets injured. If I had to pick though, I'd go with Oden. Big men with his agility and bball sense don't come around very often.

Assuming Durant can put on a little meat...I take him.
He is definitely the style of player that has taken over the league in the last few years. A versitle big man.

Since the days of George Mikkian (i know i spelled that wrong), how many teams won an NBA championship w/o a dominant center? Bulls, Pistons (90's) and that's about it....
Oden...no brainer

Oden...no brainer The Bulls won a lot of championships w/o a center period, Detroit won a few w/o a dominant center and all of the other teams had 2 dominant players; 1 player will not get it done, you need 2; look at all of the great players Russell played with and you will see why they were so successful; look at the good teams this year and you not find any team with only 1 very good player; Duncan/Parker/Ginoboli; Nash/Marion/Amare; Dirk/Howard/& many others; look at the Bulls & the Pistons inthe East (no dominant center)
